About me

My work sits between sustainability, learning, facilitation, and practical implementation.

Where Urbanhydro® Began

Urbanhydro® began from a practical question: how can sustainable ideas become accessible, meaningful, and possible to work with in everyday life? The original focus grew out of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, concept development, Lean Startup thinking, responsible innovation, and early work with sustainable growing. Over time, that starting point developed into a broader focus on sustainability, learning, facilitation, and grounded change.

From Practice to Sustainability

Before moving deeper into sustainability education and leadership, I spent many years working in service, coordination, operations, training, and people-centred leadership. That background still shapes how I work. It taught me that ideas only matter when they can function in real situations, with real people, limited resources, changing priorities, and the practical pressures of everyday work.

My studies in International Hospitality Management added a wider perspective on people, places, communication, and community. Through academic work and a communications internship with Visit Skellefteå in northern Sweden, I worked with destination development, newcomer integration, community-building, sustainable urban development, and the role of communication in creating belonging and shared direction.

Education, Leadership, and Learning

My master’s work in Education for Sustainable Development and Leadership for Sustainability brought these strands together. It deepened my focus on systems thinking, participation, reflexivity, sustainability education, relational facilitation, and organisational change. Across this work, I became increasingly interested in how people and organisations move from knowledge and ambition to meaningful, grounded action.

This is the bridge I work from today: between theory and practice, vision and implementation, reflection and action.

How I Work Today

My approach is analytical, relational, and practical. I help individuals, teams, and organisations clarify direction, understand complexity, strengthen collaboration, and create the conditions for change. This can include coaching, workshops, facilitation, consultancy, project implementation support, sustainability communication, digital learning materials, and learning design.

I do not approach sustainability as guilt, perfection, or abstract ideals. I approach it as a process of learning, responsibility, adaptation, and grounded action. Meaningful change requires structure, but not rigidity. It requires reflection, but not paralysis. It requires ambition, but also the ability to prioritise resources, adjust direction, and work with uncertainty.

At the centre of my work is a simple belief: sustainable growth begins when ideas are connected to people, practice, responsibility, and the conditions that allow better futures to take root.
